If you need to make people aware of new products or services email marketing is a great way to do it. Nevertheless, you do need to follow certain rules in order to make it truly effective. If you are not sure of the best way to do it, you will find companies willing to help you manage your marketing campaigns.

Before you begin your email campaign there are certain elements you must understand. Only send the messages to people who have subscribed to your service, even though you want to reach as many people as possible, anything else could be construed as spamming. If the message you are sending out is good enough, subscribers will pass the information on to their friends. This is the digital equivalent of word-of-mouth.

Because there are so many email communications these days, a lot of them never get opened. People have determined that the best times to send an e-mail is mid-morning, or first thing in the afternoon. This gives them a better chance of being opened.

Mailings like these must be regarded as business letters. Each mailing you send out must be of the same format so it is easily recognizable by your subscribers. They must also come from the same address, or they might be immediately directed to the spam or junk folder.

The title of the message should also make the recipient want to open it. This is an advertising campaign and you must treat it like such. There should also be a meaning in the text, even just a call to action like getting them to visit your website to read more about the new product,

Do not press the send button until you are sure that your message is correct, and that there are no mistakes. It is impossible to retrieve it afterward. email marketing messages should also include a link that allows the subscriber to cancel their subscription to your mailshots. In some countries this is law, but where it's not it's only good etiquette.
